Upturn Downunder - FIFA Women's World Cup.

In July I started a 6 week stint in Sydney working as part of FIFA's Infotainment team that oversaw the In-Stadia broadcast and entertainment at the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Fans were treated to pre-match, half time and post-match big screen fun and cultural celebrations. There was a real sense of excitement and unity that the team brought into each of the venues across Australia and New Zealand. FIFA's production hub in Sydney was the heartbeat of the operation, and all credit to a very talented team who all contributed towards the successful delivery of 64 shows, and raised the bar of fan engagement at huge global events.

It'll be interesting to see how this aspect of the World Cup develops when the USA, Canada and Mexico host the 2026 edition. The sky is the limit!

Australia's winter generally eclipses the UK's summer... just one of the extra bonuses of taking part in this epic event but one of the key take aways from this chapter was working alongside such a great bunch of people, as well as the feeling that we were part of a historical and ground breaking event that showcased the very best in women's football.

And what a World Cup...! Deserved record-breaking ratings... so much drama and excitement to the final whistle and new heroes made.
